Judy's Notes to Students--9/12/06

Communication--email? cell phone?

Do you have a cell phone?? I had an interesting experience. I called one of the NIATT offices and the grads who were there did NOT answer the phone. They wondered who would be calling that number! ! Well, I guess I'll have to start asking everyone for cell phone numbers as well as email addresses! If you have one, let me know what your number is!! I just might get my own this fall and join the crowd!

Know an undergraduate . . .

Do you know an undergraduate who might be interested in an internship working for NIATT?? Applications are being accepted now!!! Direct your friends to the internship link where they can download an application.

Never to early to look for a job . . .

Did you know that we post job opportunities on the NIATT website? Many potential employers contact us and ask us to announce openings.

A job opportunity was posted today!

Jim Frenzel offers advice to graduates

Professor Jim Frenzel of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department offers some advice for grad students on his website. Some of it may not be applicable--for instance, most of you will not have to submit your thesis in LaTeX2e. But, he has some interesting links you could find interesting, such as "How to Succeed in Graduate School." Take a look next time you have a few extra minutes.

NIATT's website!

You are here in NIATT's brand new website!! You can help us by looking the website over and letting me know what you think. You should look, particularly, at the Education section. If you have some advice, I'd be glad to hear it! What do students want to know?? What can we add?

Won't you help make this site interesting by writing a blog about your research work???? Another page, not yet complete, is a directory of current students working for NIATT. Come see me so I can take your picture and get that page active.
