Welcome to the 2006-2007 Academic Year!

Hard to believe that it's already well into the new semester !!! As we start this new year, here's a chance for you to win NIATT's August contest and help us make our new website the very best! Trouble with your paycheck?

All pay is deposited directly into a student's own checking/savings account. To view your paystub, log on to the VandalWeb and click the link to "employee."

Note: Even though your advisor has informed you that your tuition and/or insurance will be paid/partially paid for this fall, you may receive a bill for it. Don't worry, unless the charge still shows at the end of September. Student accounts will update bills that are paid in person first.

Credit/Purchasing Card Use

Students who are working for faculty can use one of NIATT's credit cards for purchasing only AFTER your advisor sends an email to authorize your use. After the email is sent, you will need to see Debbie in EPB115E to sign paperwork required by the University and become familiar with NIATT's Credit Card .

Contest!!

Name NIATT's newsletter! Over the past years we've gone from the NCATT Focus to printed copies of NIATT TECH BRIEF and NIATT Focus to totally online versions of the TECH BRIEF and Focus.

It's time for a change! We're going to combine both newsletters into one electronic version and we need a new name: inviting and eliciting, informing and entertaining, internal and external, inspiring and exciting, i.e., something innovative and evocative.

Email your entries! A panel of inexpert but eligible NIATT folks will choose the winner!

There will be a prize for the worst name, so don't hesitate! The deadline is 3 p.m., September 4, 2006. Winners need not be present when the name is chose, but must be able to come to NIATT to pick up their prize!

The new website!

You are here in NIATT's brand new website!! This website will be officially opened to the public during the week of August 21st. You can help us by looking the website over and letting me know if you find it inviting for students. You should look, particularly, at the Education section. If you have some advice, I'd be glad to hear it! What do students want to know?

And to help us even more, I'm going to be asking some of you to write your own blog about your research work. If you look at the home page in this site, you will see a spot ready and waiting. Another page, not yet complete, is a directory of current students working for NIATT. I'll be asking you permission to take and use your pictures and for some information to add. Come see me and we'll get started!
