UTC Program
NIATT has been a proud member of the
University Transportation Centers
Program since 1991.
During the past nine years, we used the UTC investment of $7
million to develop a comprehensive program of education,
research, and technology transfer.
We were one of ten Tier I UTCs to be funded for an additional
three years.
Our theme is advanced technology for sustainable
transportation. UTC
funds are used to support two of NIATT's research centers.

Where we are . . .
We
are located in the Engineering Physics Building on the campus of the University of Idaho in the city
of Moscow, in Idaho's panhandle.
Check out the

virtual tour. If you locate the Student Union building (9)
on the map, we are one about "1/2 inch" left and a "smidgen up."
Forested mountains are nearby; the air is clean and water is
abundant. The area is surrounded by rolling hills of wheat and lentils and
we get enough snowfall to provide skiing nearby. Annual rainfall is 27 inches.
And it's hardly ever humid!
Spokane, Washington, a city of some 300,000 people, is 87
miles northwest of Moscow. Seattle, Washington, and Boise, Idaho, are 6
to 7 hours away by car. The Spokane International Airport
and the Lewiston Airport both serve our area.
