Students from the Materials Science and Engineering Dept. proudly display the 2005 Annual trophy which was awarded to the UI's MSE Department at the ASM/TMS Student Paper Competition on Thursday, April 14.

Lewiston High School science students visited our Magnetic and Electronic Materials Laboratory on April 13, 2004.  They were introduced to the various types of programs and research areas offered in our department. Each student received a hands on experience with the scanning electron microscope, sputter deposition, nano-particles decanting and centrifuge, under the supervision Professor Yang Ki Hong, graduate student S. H. Gee,  and undergraduates, Kelsey Miller and William Stuck.
