Graduate Students!
The Materials Science and
Engineering Department is fortunate in having a scholarship endowment of
about $4.6 million, which generates about $288,000 per year for
scholarships. A major component of this sum is the Ziegler endowment,
which provides up to $168,000 per year for scholarships in our
Metallurgical and Materials Science programs.
If
you are a fulltime student, a resident of the State of Idaho, show
financial need and your grade point average is above a 2.0, you may
qualify for the Ziegler Scholarship. Currently our Ziegler
scholarship begins at $1500 per semester for each qualifying student.
The new Hayes
Scholarship, a $1.25M endowment for Metallurgy and Mechanical
Engineering students. This endowment
will generate approximately $50,000 per year for students in Metallurgy,
Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering.
OREGON RESIDENTS: If you are a
student from Oregon and wish to enroll in our Materials Science and
Engineering programs, you are eligible for the Oregon Out-of-State
Tuition Waiver. You must show proof of residence in Oregon.
Keep in mind that you can
complete a dual degree in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials
Science Engineering by taking only 1 additional semester of classes.
