Improving Transportation Research Collaboration in the Pacific Northwest
On June 8th and 9th, 2006, the University Transportation Centers and the state Departments of Transportation in the Pacific Northwest will host a workshop in Seattle, Washington to consider how we can more effectively collaborate on transportation research.  The idea for the workshop came from discussions that this group has held during the past year on research and education collaboration opportunities.  In addition, representatives from the U.S. Department of Transportation will discuss federal transportation research priorities.  The information generated during the workshop will identify ways in which the region can help accomplish high priority research needs that the federal government has identified.

Forty people have registered for the workshop, the maximum number that we can accommodate.  Click these links to view the attendance list and the assignments for the breakout sessions.

How to get to the South Campus Center, the venue for the workshop?  If you are staying at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Seattle, two shuttle buses will leave the Sheraton at 7:45 am to travel to the South Campus Center.  For driving or walking directions to the Center, go to the workshop location link.

Our main meeting will take place in Room 316R of the South Campus Center.

Find out about the questions that each presenter will address and the questions that will guide the breakout sessions.

Check the study materials page periodically before the workshop as it will have information that you can use to prepare for the workshop.  This link includes the presentations that will be given at the workshop.

You can also learn more about our state DOTs and the UTCs in our region and the research priority and needs documents by visiting the links page.  The most recent ranking of AASHTO/SCOR research projects, the basis for selecting projects to be funded through NCHRP, are on this page.
