Class Notes - Class 21 (Friday, October 26, 2001)

The purpose of our class today is to learn to forecast future traffic volumes using the TRAFFIX tool and to prepare the information needed to complete a traffic impact analysis.

Task 1.  Check the following items for the Future scenario.

  • Are the paths built correctly (should be 100% between each zone and each gate)?
  • Are the trip distribution percentages selected correctly (should be 25% for each zone-gate pair)? {Note: You can check this by right clicking on each zone
  • Are the trip generation rates correctly selected for each zone?

Task 2. Select the desired output reports.

Task 3. Run the forecast for the Future scenario.

Task 4. Identify and document problems in the performance of the future scenario using the data in the various output reports.

The work that you have completed in today's class (and in last Wednesday's class) will be the basis for completing Assignment 14.
