Assignment  14

The purpose of assignment 14 is to complete a traffic impact analysis report for the proposed developments in the northwest sector of the city of Moscow.

The report will be due at the beginning of class on Wednesday, October 31st.

The report should be computer-generated using a word processor.  All relevant information should be included in the document electronically.

The following data should be included in the report:

• current traffic counts at all intersections
• current intersection geometric and control conditions
• projected lane use type and intensities
• trip generation rates assumed for each land use
• trip distribution and traffic assignment assumptions

The following analyses should be performed and included in the report:

• level of service for each intersection for existing conditions
• level of service for each intersection for future conditions

You should consider what mitigations you would recommend to improve the level of service for the future scenario.  You can use TRAFFIX to test the effects of these mitigations.

Your report should include the following sections, in order:

• title page with report title, author's name, and date
• table of contents
• executive summary with no more than one page summarizing the key findings of the study
• description of existing conditions
• description of future conditions
• suggested/recommended mitigations and conclusions from analysis
• appendix with computational summaries from TRAFFIX

Your report will be graded using the following criteria:

• completion of all required tasks, as listed above (60%)
• consistency with required format, as listed above (10%)
• quality of writing and presentation (20%)
