Overview

The purpose of this assignment is to learn more about conducting planning analyses for a corridor consists primarily of a rural two-lane highway.

Requirements

Review the materials that were distributed by Scott Frey in class today.

  • U.S. Highway 26 corridor plan, June 2001, final report
  • Two-lane highways chapter from the Highway Capacity Manual
  • U.S.-26 Traffic Data and Analysis summary sheets (9/28/01)

Using this material, estimate the projected level of service (LOS) for the following two segments:

  • Milepost (MP) 352-357
  • Milepost (MP) 362-368

This assignment will be due at the beginning of class on Monday, October 8th (or October 15th for video students).
