MISSION:
STRATEGIC PLAN
Vision Statement
In the future, the Idaho Technology Transfer Center will be the preferred source of information to help solve local public agencies' transportation problems by evaluating and supplying the latest technology in the form most appropriate for local use.
Operating Philosophy
We value professionalism and creativity while providing proactive leadership. This is accomplished by being innovative and responsive through active partnering efforts with our customers.
Issues and Challenges
- Needed training resources, materials and referral sources are not readily available to the local participants, thereby impacting their efficiency of operations.
-
The T2 Center's operation has two offices--one located on the University of
Idaho campus in Moscow and one in Boise in the Idaho Water Center
-
The T2
Center strives to ensure that its customer's needs are met.
-
All operating agencies are being faced with reduced budgets, and also increased and more focused public demand for services, creating a need for a better trained staff.
-
Transportation issues are becoming more complex and contentious, placing a burden on the staffs of all agencies to more effectively
communicate alternative solutions.
- People are competing for limited resources, resulting in conflicts between vying groups.
-
Current educational programs aren't readily available to local decision-makers, which impacts
their understanding of technical issues and consequently the support of their staff.
-
Geographical distance between the T2 Center and its customers hinders the effectiveness of the Center's services.
-
Tribal government road departments have not taken full advantage of services offered by the T2 Center, creating inefficiencies in training.
-
A T2 Center has multiple customer groups with differing needs, creating the need for a variety of delivery methods.
Goals
- To evolve to a stable and effective T2 structure and organization.
- To be utilized by the local public agencies as a resource for the exchange of transportation technology.
- To communicate more effectively with a wider variety of customers.
Key Administrative Objectives
- To prepare an annual Work Plan and Budget for submittal to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and an Evaluation Report.
- To compile and maintain a mailing list on an ongoing basis.
- To publish a quarterly newsletter.
- To conduct and arrange for a minimum of ten training sessions and seminars annually.
