What some Road Scholars have had to say about the program:

Jeff Gutshall wrote the following: "Road science is real science and a proper understanding of the underlying theory and technology makes road construction and maintenance creative and stimulating work. We owe a large debt to the Idaho T2 Center for this and I encourage all agencies to take advantage of the courses."

Kevin Howard shared this thought: “I have enjoyed and benefited from many classes that the Idaho T2 Center has offered over the years. The foresight shown by my superiors to send me to these classes. The information shared has made my job easier, more efficient and a higher level of quality has been achieved. I do appreciate the shared information; after all, if we each had to reinvent the wheel, the majority of us would still be walking to work.”

Allan Stowell stated that “without the T2 training, I wouldn’t be able to do the job I do at the City of Hailey, to insure absolute service to the people of Hailey. The training is number one in the state of Idaho, and the cost of the classes makes it affordable to take all we have time for.”

Marj Tilley tells this story: “When I was appointed as a commissioner, I was under the impression the job was part-time, but I found out quickly that in reality the position was interesting and demanding. At the first regional gather of commissioners that I attended, I overheard two other commissioners talking about a new commissioner 'who didn’t know anything about being a commissioner.' The next comment was, 'What the heck is he doing being a commissioner? He better start learning something!' I realized that I better start learning too, so I took every class that I could from the T2 Center. I was absolutely starting with not very much knowledge about road maintenance, and this seemed like the ideal way to learn and apply it to my position on the Highway District Board. Doug Moore and Bruce Drewes stuck with me 'until the light came on.'  I found everyone was willing to answer my ‘dumb questions.’ Thanks to all of you.”

Gary Cottrell told us that "Our little city is growing in leaps and bounds and without the great training opportunities that we get and the knowledge that it gives us in the work field, we would be stuck on the side of the road. I’m very proud to be the second person in the city to get this certification, especially in the time I’ve been with them. Knowledge and cross-training are the keys to getting the job done right!”
