Douglas R. Moore

Douglas
R. Moore, a civil engineer with more than 30 years of experience, is the
director of the Idaho Technology Transfer (T2) Center at the University of
Idaho.“The
search committee reviewed a number of highly qualified applicants for this
position, and Doug turned out to be the top candidate,” said Professor Michael
Kyte, Director of the National Institute for Advanced Transportation
Technology, of which the T2 Center is a part. “He is a fine engineer and a
natural communicator who knows the engineering community."
Moore assumed his position as director in August, 2001. He was previously the assistant
district engineer for the Idaho Transportation Department, District 2 in Lewiston. Prior
to moving to Lewiston, he worked in ITD’s headquarters construction section in
Boise.
A
Northwest native, Moore spent some time with the Florida Department of
Transportation, where he worked as a district materials engineer, a resident
construction engineer and a district construction engineer. His background
includes working as a project engineer and project manager on major industrial
construction projects in the paper and woods products, phosphorous, chemical and
petrol-chemical industries.
He holds his BSCE
from Oregon State University and is a lifelong learner with continued education
at Managerial Analytics and KTA Management Schools, AASHTO Leadership Academy
and he has also taken a number of Certified Public Manager courses.
