Best Management Practices

The process of developing a manual for Best Management Practices (BMPs) began when a need was identified by the BLM, Forest Service, DEQ and Custer County.

Stacy Smith and Doug Moore worked with various state and federal agencies, along with a focus group of Idaho road supervisors, to create a set of environmentally sensitive methods of maintaining the gravel and paved roads around the state.
