Assignment 3: Intersection Design and Safety [Due Date Monday March 17, 2008- 1:30 PM]

1. The IDRM website lists 27 concerns or potential problem areas that IDRM is capable of evaluating. These concerns  are summarized in Table 3. Modify Table 3 by adding a column that lists the possible crash types associated with each of the 27 concerns.

2. Using the procedure described in chapter 3 in the IDRM website [cases B1, B2. B3, and F], evaluate the safety performance of the SH 8 and Mountain View road intersection.

3. For the three closely-spaced intersections located in 6^th Street east of UI campus, [6^th /Washington, 6^th /Main, and 6^th/Jackson], conduct a safety evaluation using procedure described in the IDRM website and the Table you developed in Problem 1. Use the City of Moscow 2002 crash data to examine the output of your safety evaluation.
