Topics:
Exam preparation
Examination 3 will be given on Thursday, April 26th. The exam
will test your abilities to accomplish the following tasks:
- Understand the parameters given in
the NTCIP 1202 phase table and how these parameters are used to
define the timing plan.
- Interpret a precedence graph for
representing the timing and sequencing of phases.
- Represent the timing of a phase
and the resulting status of displays based on the sequence of
detector calls and given timing data.
- Determine the passage time given
observed headways in a traffic stream, a desired maximum acceptable
headway, and the length of the detection zone.
- Compute the variable initial
interval given volume/density parameters.
- Explain the gap reduction process
for volume/density control.
