Welcome to the CE556 web page. This course is designed for graduate students with some background in pavement materials. 

Course Catalog Description (2008-2009)

CE ID&WS556 Properties of Pavement Materials (3 cr). WSU CE 567. Design of asphalt and portland cement concrete mixes; physical and mechanical properties; characterization methods; effects of aggregate and binder constituents; modification and upgrading techniques; laboratory and in-situ evaluation methods; applications of highway and airport materials. Three 1-hr lec a wk and variable number of lab hrs for demonstration. Prereq: CE 357 or equiv, or perm.

Undergraduate Students' Enrollment:

Senior undergraduate students who have completed CE357at the University of Idaho - or a similar course at another institution - can enroll in the CE556 course provided that their GPA is 2.8 or better. Undergraduate students, can enroll in this course as well at undergraduate level as CE404. Please contact Professor Bayomy for more details.
